Do you have ideas for improving the City of Gloucester? We want to hear them! Gloucester is currently working to develop its first Comprehensive Plan since 2001. This plan is long-range, visionary, and primarily focused on the City's physical and social evolution. Gloucester's Comprehensive Plan will guide local decision-makers over the next ten years in topics including 1) land use, 2) demographics & housing, 3) employment and economic development conditions, 4) natural places, ecosystems, and sustainability, 5) historic, arts, and cultural resources, 6) transportation, and 7) public facilities & services.
Phase II, which will begin in October 2023, launches the broader public engagement process. The project team is offering multiple opportunities for community members to get involved and help shape the City’s future. These include:
● Taking our community survey! — Answer questions about the City’s strengths and weaknesses to help identify what needs improvement.
● Host a meeting-in-a-box! — Join together with friends, colleagues, and neighbors to discuss your ideal future for Gloucester.
● Submit ideas on our Crowdmap! — Have you ever looked at a place in Gloucester and had an idea about how to make it better? Our interactive Crowdmap lets you make place-based recommendations for the City’s future.
● Find us tabling at community events! — Project team members will be at events throughout the fall, connecting with the Gloucester community. See the project website for more information on where you can find us.
We need your help to reach our 3,000-person participation-point goal!
