A Means to the Past
The Town and City Record Guides One and Two are indexes to the archival collections in the city.
- Guide One (PDF) contains most of the ancient and town records up to 1874, when Gloucester became a city, and represents what had been organized and catalogued by the Archives Committee as of 1998.
- Guide Two (PDF) contains the index to those items of the collection indexed subsequently.
Yet another guide, not yet online but available at the Archives office, covers the collection of maps and plans in the Engineer’s Vault.
