Conservation Division

Butterflies flying over a mrashThe Conservation Division is staffed by a full-time conservation agent that primarily supports the work of the Gloucester Conservation Commission in administering the Massachusetts Wetlands Protection Act, the City of Gloucester Wetlands Ordinance, and associated environmental regulations. You may contact the department with questions related to environmental permitting. In addition, you may find it helpful to first consult the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection Homepage as well, many of links to forms are found there.

Please contact the Conservation Agent to identify the appropriate forms and information you may need to provide to make a submission to the Conservation Commission.

Conservation Office

The Conservation Agent and Assistant Conservation Agent are in the office Monday through Friday with periodic site visit trips out of the office.  Please call ahead to make sure there will be someone in the office.

Maps

Gloucester uses MapGeo, a mapping platform that incorporates many of Google Maps features to create a familiar look and feel, allowing users to search addresses, pan around, and explore map layers by clicking them on and off. Find Gloucester map data on the MapGeo Platform.
