Conservation Division

The Conservation Division is staffed by a full-time conservation agent that primarily supports the work of the Gloucester Conservation Commission in administering the Massachusetts Wetlands Protection Act, the City of Gloucester Wetlands Ordinance, and associated environmental regulations. You may contact the department with questions related to environmental permitting. In addition, you may find it helpful to first consult the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection Homepage as well, many of links to forms are found there.

Applications, Forms, and Information

Please contact the Conservation Agent to identify the appropriate forms and information you may need to provide to make a submission to the Conservation Commission.

The Conservation Agent, Adrienne Lennon is working remotely and in the field during the COVID-19 State of Emergency.

The Conservation Agent, Adrienne Lennon is available to the public Monday - Thursday 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm to answer questions and offer guidance about permitting, environmental management and conservation lands.

Sign-in or call-in to the remote Open Office Hours via Zoom Webinar and use the ’raise your hand’ button to be activated by the Agent. You will be called upon in the order in which you are received.

Some questions will require more time and consideration than Office Hours are able to provide. Please be advised that individuals who need more than a 10-minute block will be asked to schedule a separate meeting with the Agent.

City Hall is closed on Thursday, November 11th, for Veteran's Day. 

Agent Lennon will be out of office November 22nd-26th, Thanksgiving week.
