Dear Dive Team Supporter,
In the past you have supported our efforts to provide the Cape Ann area with professionally trained and equipped rescue divers. Through these efforts we have been able to equip and train our volunteer public safety professionals (firefighters and police officers) as rescue divers. At this time we are capable of responding to almost any type of water rescue. However, we are still in need of additional equipment and training.
Once again, the holdup is financial. The dive team has no set funding or operating budget and operates completely with volunteer labor. One hundred percent of all donations goes towards training costs and improving equipment. For instance to equip one diver costs approximately $5,000.00.
Our second largest expense is specialized training and certifications which can cost upwards of $4000.00. An example of this training would be the four days of below ice dive rescue the team recently sponsored.
