Domestic Violence Prevention
The Coalition for the Prevention of Domestic Abuse (CPDA)

CPDA is a multi-agency group that will celebrate its 10th anniversary in October 2010. The purpose of the coalition is to increase community awareness and response to domestic abuse in the community. Coalition partners include the Essex County District Attorney's office, Healing Abuse Working for Change (HAWC) and the Department of Children and Families

CPDA has been able to work with these agencies as well as other community groups to create an emergency legal fund for victims, a High Risk Team to monitor cases with high risk of homicide, distribute a multilingual brochure, and to provide community trainings and educational workshops to clergy, youth, and adults. For more information about CPDA efforts or to become involved, contact the Public Health Nurse at 978-325-5266.

The HAWC Hotline (1-800-547-1649) can be contacted for support and resources. The hotline is staffed by supportive and caring people who can help with accessing shelter, getting crisis intervention, and can provide information on filing for a restraining order.

Gloucester Child Sexual Abuse Prevention Partnership (GCSAPP)
